Every child born in the village could tell you the same thing that the woods have always been a dangerous place. But now a darkness is spreading, different from the one they have always known. What was once a small area of condensed trees has now since escalated into a fully grown forest. One that is merciless and could only bring about destruction, all who entered were brought upon their untimely end. And with this nightmare came a disease, one that would take many lives. That was nine years ago, with all the time that has passed only the children were left. But the disease still lingers, forever changing the forest. Now beast wander the forest floors ready to kill any who dare to venture deep into the undergrowth. Most of the children first believed these beasts to have gone rabid from the very beginning, but something had to be far more sinister at work here than a simple disease. The animals who have since turned into beasts are becoming more aggressive, the perfect killing machines. Only the Council of the village knows something, and they are keeping it hidden from the rest of the children.
What the rest of the village doesn’t know, is that the powerful force at work is moving quickly. One of their own has gone over the dark barrier, a valued Council member that was thought to be trusted. He isn’t wasting any time recruiting others to join him in his sinister plot. The elemental magic once granted to the villagers is being misused, turning and twisting into something terrible, manifesting into a whole new darkness. The council member had started using this dark magic to manipulate life forces, even the bones of the decease long before anyone even knew. It was he, who had caused the animals to transform into hideous creatures lurking the forest, and to spread the disease that took so many lives. But nobody knew of his corruption, not even the council who had clung onto their suspicions but had soon dismissed them.
Now the village is fighting back, an alliance has formed and continues to grow in secret. They are known as the protectors, who are waiting for the call. Will you be just as easily corrupted, or will you help to uncover the secrets of the protectors, becoming your very own hero? A hero the children need.
