TYPE.kitsu’s main flame type is sun or sereno. he takes great pride in the healing properties lying within his flames, but he also has flames of destruction. within his small body, storm flames also circulate. kitsu has learned how to deal with this dual flame type though, and it no longer bothers him. kitsu also has a small amount of sky flames within him. these flames are never seen, but he does have them.
RING.stella sun ring -- this is kitsu's main ring. the ring is a white gold color that gleams faintly no matter what lighting. the ring has has the sun etched into a star that protrudes from the band of the ring. the ring itself isn't very large, but it holds a great deal of power. kitsu wears this on his left-hand ring finger, and he never takes it off. it signifies a great deal to him, and it proves that he belongs to something that he can really be proud of.
hayagawa family ring -- kitsu was orginially from the hayagawa family, and his blood couldn't be denied even if the family disowned him. the entire hayagawa family was believed to have been exterminated, but kitsu still lives so the ring signfying the head of the family was given to him. this ring is pitch black with crooked blood red stars etched into the metal, and a thin silver chain connects the main ring with a smaller black ring. kitsu has taken to wearing the main ring on his right-hand ring finger and the smaller ring on his right-hand pinky finger. the power of these rings are unknown as kitsu only wears them. he has no real attachment to them.
tigre fiamma ring -- the tigre fiamma ring is kitsu’s only storm ring, and it is his main rings for destructive attack. this ring is silver with a red tiger etched onto the band. a ruby rests happily between the jaws of the tiger, and kitsu is quite fond of the ring. kitsu himself was the one to find the ring amongst the ruins on one of his missions. it was a rare find, and kitsu is quite fond of the ring. he uses it for all his storm flame necessities. he wears it on his left hand pointer finger with the thick black band he found with it on his thumb.
ANIMAL.tigre di tempesta -- tigre di tempesta, or raul, is kitsu’s faithful partner. most people think of kitsu as a fox, but his animal is a tiger. his tiger comes to about four feet high when standing on all four feet. raul towers of kitsu when standing on two legs. the tiger wears golden armor over the tip of its tail, over its shoulders, and on its head. the tiger’s fur is a yellowish-orange with black strips all along its body. it has storm flames coming from the back of its feet and the tip of its tail and ears. raul tends to cover for kitsu when the other is either a) in a blind frenzy or b) when he is taking care of the injured. kitsu and raul work surprisingly well together. this teamwork even sticks after the up-grade. raul can be up-graded just like kitsu using the same box. those changes are discussed with that bos though. at the moment, raul only serves to provide assistance to kitsu and is of no use healing wise. his job is to protect, and he does that well.
WEAPONS.sciarpa di sereno -- kitsu’s sciarpa di sereno is a scarf. this scarf is golden around the edges with a white, thick line running down the cloth. on the white part, there are symbols written in black. these symbols represent the different functions of the scarf. not all the functions have been displayed, but kitsu is very good at picking the right symbol for different situations. the known functions of the scarf are the materialization of a dome-like or single person shield and creation of first aid supplies. kitsu himself has confessed that he doesn’t understand what half of the symbols on the scarf mean since the scarf is a good ten feet long. he also said that the scarf is unusually durable and quite light. this scarf is one of kitsu’s greatest assets on the field. at the moment, kitsu is limited to three effects per battle.
mascherina della tigre -- this box is one that kitsu isn’t that fond of using. he once said that it physically hurt and mentally strained him when he used it. he said that the box doesn’t take long to recharge, but he always felt terrible for two or more weeks after using it. this first thing about this box is that on the outside it is black with a two red tigers on the box. once the box it opened, the whisker marks on kitsu’s face become more defined and his eyes turn red. his eyes also gain cat-like pupils, and his nails and teeth grow longer and more dagger-like in quality. he almost literally pulls on a tiger mask. kitsu’s base strengths are drawn upon and enhanced more with this box. he tends to rely heavily upon hand-to-hand combat after unleashing this box. this box also has some affect on kitsu’s partner, raul. his faithful companion gets some features added to him. raul’s size increase by about two feet, and he gains long saber-like teeth. he looks more like a sabertooth than a tiger. both kitsu and raul get an increase in their base strengths, but it takes more out of kitsu than it is probably worth. at the moment, if kitsu uses the box for an excessive amount of time he’ll end up passed out for at least three days.
momento -- kitsu’s last box is another memento from the hayagawa family. kitsu has never used it just like he has never used the ring. he isn’t exactly sure if he has the right flame type to use it either way. the box is a silvery color with a heart with vines that have all their thorns surrounded and encaging it. the symbol on the box is just like that on kitsu’s back. kitsu keeps the box on his person always, but he can’t bear to even look at it never mind use it. the box only brings back painful memories for kitsu. this box will probably never see action.

FEARS.abuse -- kitsu was abused terribly while he was with the hayagawa family. they were his true family, yet they treated him like dirt. he was constanly surrounded by pain, and he could barely stand it. his strong will was what kept him going, but even he crumbled a different points. he once attempted suicide before meeting hisoka. kitsu now fears a repeat of what happened in his past. he fears getting close to people only to be so brutually abused as he was back then. he was broken mentally and emotionally and at times physically by the hayagawa family, and he doesn't want to return to that state again. he fears returning to that state.
death -- kitsu doesn't like any mention of death or decay. he purposefully blocked out all mention of plague or war when he was forced to attend school, and he has never shown in interest in rampant murder. he comes from a family that excels in violence, but he draws a line at taking he life. he doesn't fear death itself though. he fears losing his life to the people that he holds closest to his heart. he also fears the reverse: killing the people that he holds closest to his heart. either one would destroy him: one would physcially destroy him and the other would emotionally and mentally destroy him. he tries to throw up barriers to keep from becoming extremely close to people. he doesn't want to lose him to the player called death.
nighttime -- kitsu has developed an irrational fear of the dark thanks to his past with the hayagawa family. this fear has more to do with his siblings then his actual family. he has trouble sleeping at night, and he really only allows himself to sleep because he knows he has too. he would sleep all day if he could, but he can't. his fear of the night comes from the many pranks and torture sessions that his siblings would subject him to during the dead hours of the night. no one ever saved him, and kitsu has developed a thought process in which all bad things will occur during the night. his fear of the night has diminished slightly since joining the stella family, but he still prefers sneaking into hisoka's bed over sleeping alone in his room.
DREAMS.rescue -- kitsu has always adored animals. he loves to go outdoors and just listen and watch as many animals as he can. he would care for every animal in the world if he could. he currently has a young fox named zephyr. this fox has been with kitsu since he found it during a mission and later nursed it back to health. this young fox was the spark for kitsu's dream. he wants to run an animal rescue center and take in as many animas as possible, and he would love it if hisoka would work with him. he doesn't know if the last part is possible, so he is limiting himself to just owning and running an animal rescue center that can cater to any manner of animal whether it be dog, cat, wolf, owl, or snake.
acceptance -- kitsu has a problem thinking that he has been accepted in a group. he can tell that he was accepted into the ninth generation of the stella family, but he has no idea about the new generation. he is both the sun guardian and right hand, and he has a lot of responsiblities on his shoulders. he doesn't want to let anyone down, but he also wants to belong. he would hate to let anyone down, and a main goal of his is to become an accepted memeber in the new generation of the ruthless stella family. he would hate to think that he could fail, and he puts a hundred and ten percent into anything. he doesn't want them to think that he is useless, and he has a goal to accomplish. plus he doesn't want to be a burden on hisoka.
ABILITIES.kitsu is a master of both hand-to-hand combat and mid-ranged attacks. he was trained from an early age in the art of karate, but kitsu also adds his own style to what he learned. his hand-to-hand combat combines all his physical strengths and a bit of dancing. kitsu’s movements on the battlefield are nothing like those outside of it. most people know kitsu as a complete klutz, but on the field kitsu is as graceful as a fox. his movements are never wasted, and he seems to have the natural instinct for fighting. but kitsu isn’t just a master of hand-to-hand combat. His expertise also falls under kunai and daggers. he keeps numerous amounts of kunai and daggers on his body. he does quite a bit of damage with his choice of weapon. he after all doesn’t care for guns, and he has always said that ninja were the coolest. his choice of combat expertise actually comes from his love of ninjas. he works well with their style of attacking though, and his style is his style. besides those two things, kitsu is also a master at using a cloth or whip. his main box weapon is a scarf after all, but he usually relies upon hand-to-hand combat or his kunai/daggers when fighting for his scarf is for support purposes.
FULL PERSONALITY.kitsune ayumu isn’t the same person as kitsune hayagawa. kitsune hayagawa was an easily frightened and backboneless person. that kitsu just went with the flow and didn’t try to break free. he just kept going and going. he took hit after hit and never complained. he was with his family after all. why did he need to worry? that kitsu was always in some kind of pain, and he was always suffering. he didn’t know the meaning of joy or happiness. he just knew sorrow and pain. he was the bottom of the barrel, and he recognized that.
even from an early age, kitsu was showing some things that only later became definite characteristics of the boy. as a child, he was forced to keep quiet and calm. That didn’t suit the fox at all. kitsu is one of those people that like to express himself and talk. he is always going on about one thing or another now-a-days. he doesn’t keep himself locked away. he vents and rants to anyone that he feels comfortable with. kitsu isn’t able to keep himself from expressing his feelings, and he really doesn’t care if people know what he thinks or feels about them.
there of course are other layers to this fox. he tends to be very hyper-active, and he always keeps a smile on his face. his smile could literally light up a room, but kitsu doesn’t smile to achieve that though. he smiles when he feels like it which is pretty much all the time. Hhe loves to learn about new things and expand his horizons. he is constantly reaching out for new things and jumping into things headfirst. he could really use some patience and self-control, but those aren’t necessarily bad qualities within the small blonde. in fact, his tack-less ways and easily amused nature makes him all the more enjoyable.
there are darker parts to kitsu as well though. the boy is extremely shy and has very little self-confidence. he doesn’t really understand what could possibly be good about himself. he listens to what others say, but he never comprehends. he is also one that doesn’t reach out to people easily. his seven years with the hayagawa family keeps him from completely reaching out to total strangers. besides those two things the fox is also highly sarcastic and holds a grudge easily. he doesn’t take kindly to lies or deceit, and he remembers things very well. his grudges are known to span years.
kitsu is generally a very friendly and optimistic person. he doesn’t like raining down on others parades, and he doesn’t like showing his own sorrow to people. he is highly loyal and overly protective of those that make it into his large heart. he shows compassion to everyone he meets, and he tries to keep his curiosity at a controllable level. kitsu is generally the kind of person you don’t mind meeting on the street. he has a tendency to talk his friends’ ears off, but he doesn’t mean much harm.
beneath the super sweet kitsu is the ruthless one. this kitsu is the gracefully creature seen on the battlefield and the one that the hayagawa family raised. this kitsu is calm and ruthless. nothing escapes his notice, and he attacks without mercy. kitsu hates this side of himself, and he tries to contain it. he can’t though. in certain situations, this side just pops out, and kitsu is left to heal up the damage afterwards. kitsu himself is far from ruthless unless his friends are insulted or injured. then it would be best to run because a pissed kitsu is not a fun one.
kitsu is overall a pretty optimistic person. he is loud and up-beat. he has a tendency to be overly protective and rude, but he makes up for that with his loyalty and compassion. there are certain things about him that the fox doesn’t like though. he doesn’t care for his low self-confidence or how easily he can get depressed. he tries to keep a smile, but sometimes even the pressure is too much for the young fox.
BRIEF HISTORY.kitsune ayumu was born into the Hayagawa family eighteen years ago on september eleventh. the date alone was a bad omen for the family. at that point in time, kitsu was known as kitsune hayagawa, the regret of the Hayagawa family. for the entire time kitsu was known as a hayagawa, that was all he was never known as. his achievements were overlooked, and he was constantly being looked down upon. actually, it was a lot worse than just being ignored. he was ignored greatly by his mother, but he tortured by everyone else. he was the disgrace, and so he was also the sacrifice of the hayagawa family.
kitsu was the youngest of three children. his older brothers were considered perfect in the eyes of the hayagawa family. kitsu wasn’t. he was after all only third in line for the head of the family. his siblings both came before him, and their needs were always placed before his. in fact for the most part, kitsu’s needs were forgotten by everyone. kitsu was the sacrifice which meant he didn’t have to be taken care of. he could have just rotted away and no one would have cared. his siblings would have missed their toy, but no one would really have cared if kitsu had just up and disappeared out of their lives. they might have lamented the loss of their sacrifice, but no one around him cared about him personally.
kitsu was an abused child. his father took great pleasure in implementing new torture exercises on the boy. kitsu was scared both physically, mentally, and emotionally by his father. it is highly possible that kitsu’s father still scares him. no one else in the hayagawa family was able to affect kitsu like his father. not even his brothers whom took great joy in their ‘fox hunt’ or his mother who completely ignored him. only his father left that big of an impact, but his father did a lot of the worst things to kitsu. his father was the one that got the entire family to enjoy the ‘kitsu torture.' his father was the one that branded him a disgrace. his father was also the one to put down all of kitsu’s early dreams.
there was nothing kitsu’s father couldn’t do to him early on in life. his father did everything from slapping him, punching him, slicing him, whipping him. kitsu’s father took pride in the bruises that would appear on kitsu’s skin. at that time, kitsu was being starved and kept inside for the amusement of the family. he looked sickly, and he was barely surviving. he just had to hang on between all the torture and the ‘fox hunts.' he did somehow. he managed to keep a tight grip on whom he was and why he didn’t need to leave the world yet. at the time, he really didn’t have a purpose in life though. he just knew it wasn’t his time to go.
things began to change slightly as kitsu got older. he was given more food, but the ‘fox hunts’ were in more demand. kitsu was forced to spend more and more time trying to escape his family only to be captured in the end. tt was after his almost escape that his father branded him. his father took a knife and had kitsu’s siblings hold him steady. then the horrible man cut the hayagawa symbol onto kitsu’s back. everyone cheered with each pain filled scream that came from kitsu’s moth. kitsu was only five, and he felt like his whole world was collapsing with each line that was added to the ever growing scar on his back.
nothing else of real importance happened until kitsu was seven. that was the year when almost everyone was getting fed up of the pretty blonde. it was early december when everything happened. even now what happened then is still a bit hazy to kitsu. it all happened so fast that he isn’t sure exactly what happened. all he knows is that one minute his father was glaring down at him and the next he was walking away. in that moment two things had happened. kitsu had been disowned by his own family, and the fox had chosen to lose all connection to that family by changing his last name. that brief moment was the last time kitsu was ever known as kitsune hayagawa. from that moment on, he was kitsune ayumu.
kitsu was of course seven when he was disowned. he had no idea where to go. he just took to the streets and wondered around for hours. he was a young child with nothing left in the world. he didn’t know how to make it on his own. he just knew what he had been taught while with his previous family. he was completely alone, and he didn’t like it. he didn’t like it one bit. he felt completely isolated from even the other people walking the streets with him. everything had ached then especially the scar that spanned his entire back. he was alone, and it stayed that way for two years.
during the two years kitsu was alone, all he managed to do was shift from one kind home to the next. he traveled across Japan. he practiced what he knew and incorporated what he saw on the streets into his fighting style. he kept little on him and took great pride in keeping that little on him. he didn’t let anybody take advantage of him. he used his cute appearance to gain the trust of different families. he managed to survive using what he had, but he hated every minute of it. he always felt isolated and completely on his own. he barely managed to keep himself going those two years. in fact, he was just about to kill himself when he was kidnapped.
his kidnappers had known nothing about him. they had just seen a cute boy that could probably catch a pretty penny. they needed money after traveling from italy to japan. they were defects from the stella solare famiglia, and they were on the run. they grabbed kitsu and kept him with them until soon after the little fox’s tenth birthday. then it hadn’t been their idea to give him up though. they had finally been caught by the stella family. their capturer was none other than kitsu’s savior, yasha shimizu.
yasha killed the defects right before kitsu’s eyes, but kitsu was only half-conscious then anyway. he doesn’t remember that day at all. all he knows is that one day he was with the defects, and the next he was on a plane to italy with yasha. yasha really hadn’t had a reason when bringing kitsu with him. something about the fox had just reached out to the man, and after that yasha couldn’t have left him there alone. it was from that moment on that kitsune ayumu got his official start as a member of the stella family and soon as yasha’s adopted child.
it was because of this change of scenery that kitsu was able to meet his eventual partner, hisoka kyoshi. the two were only ten when they met, and they both come from very brutal backgrounds. kitsu had been instantly charmed by the sullen young boy, and he made an effort to reach out. he didn’t really realize how much they had in common. he only saw how different they were. they embodied two different things darkness and light, yet all Kitsu wanted was for them to be friends. eventually that wish came true because now the two are practically inseparable.
after joining the stella family, few things happened to the young fox. the most important was probably the massacre of the hayagawa family by an unknown assassin group. after the assassination, the family ring and a box were given to the sole remaining hayagawa, kitsu. kitsu still has both, but he has never used them. he doesn’t really plan to ever use them. a few other things like the finding of the tigre fiamma fing and the finding of zephyr happened, but those were little things. for the most part kitsu just enjoyed his life with his cloud guardians and the rest of the ninth generation.
now, kitsu is eighteen years old and an accomplished young hitman. he is best friends with hisoka kyoshi, and he works as the sun guardian of the tenth generation stella boss. he loves his current life, and he doesn’t want to lose it. he’ll do anything to keep it, and he isn’t afraid to prove that.
