Today was the day. Yes, Niccolo was excited, extremely excited. Today, he'd finally meet his guardians, the people who he would lead as the next Stella boss. Over all the years of learning at different schools all over the world, he often wondered what they'd be like. And now, the day was finally here.
Niccolo Principe sat in a chair beside a large meeting table in one of the rooms in the base. He was near the window, and it was a lovely say out today. Niccolo looked up at the big blue sky and was even more happy. they'd be here any minute. He couldn't wait.
He re-arranged his chair so it was sitting right, he checked his face in a mirror to see that it looked right. He adjusted his blond hair, and made sure nothing weird was son his face. He wanted to look good for his first meeting, really leader-like. He thought "What should I be doing when they first see me? What should be their first image of me be?" He pondered the matter. Should he be staring intently at them? No, that would make him look too serious. Should he be reading a book nonchalently? No, that would make him seem too standoffish.
He pondered the matter, before then walking back over to the mirror. He may need to rehearse this. he began, "Greetings, my friends. I am the next Stella boss. My name is Niccolo Principe and its.....no, no, no...they already know I'm the next boss.... Hello. I am Niccolo Principe, your superior....no that'd rub people the wrong way.....what to do what to do?" He was so preoccupied with what to say he didn't realize the door opening beside him,

kitsune ayumu loved to explore, but he was reaching the end of his rope. the members of the stella family were being housed in the base for who knew how long, and the young fox had already explored every inch of the base. his arrival a few days prior had given him more than enough free time to do as he pleased. rumors had circled around the base that the mysterious boss had finally arrived. no one, it seemed, knew anything about the tenth boss of the notorious stella family. kitsune had heard from the previous boss that he expected his son to be the best. the old man was placing his faith into the newest boss, but the blonde didn’t know what to think yet. rumors upon rumors had reached his ears since his arrival, and he couldn’t classify any of them as falsehoods yet. he had heard both that the boss had lived in seclusion and that he had traveled all over training and learning. the guardian had heard so many things that he had just stopped listening. the new rumors no longer excited him as any one of them could be completely fictional. “the truth lies in deceit,” but the blonde didn’t know enough to classify the truth from the lies. it all made his head spin, and hisoka had told him more than once to just forget it. the young kit hadn’t been able to do that before.
the young blonde bounded down the hallways of the base. the base was constructed to look like the solar system. the main building used to house all the meetings was in the center of the compound, and smaller buildings spread out in layers just like the solar system. there were even circular paths wrapped around and around the main building that connected with the doors to the smaller buildings. the buildings were even named after the planet they represented, and the entire bass was known as the “celestial complex.” the main base back in italy wasn’t even this grand, but the exploration of this base had been simpler. the main base was full of secret passages in its old castle-like structure. this base was more straightforward, and kitsune had easily become bored. he had passed the last two days bugging hisoka or training out in the woods beyond the last building of the complex.
footsteps echoed along the empty halls as the sun guardian made his way to the main meeting room. the sun building was off limits to most of the stella family located at the complex. only the tenth boss and his guardians along with the heads of the different divisions were allowed inside. the guardians and new boss even had their rooms located in the sun building while the rest were located in the earth building. the blonde hated the sun building. there was no life, no sound, no laughter, and nothing to do. he avoid the building like the plague when he could, and he had taken to slipping into hisoka’s room at night. the raven hadn’t said anything about it, but kitsune was just waiting for hisoka to grow annoyed with him. he had been waiting for that for years though, and he was beginning to hope that the day never came.
sky blue hues glowed happily as the door to main meeting room finally appeared in the teen’s line of sight. a happy grin spread across his slightly tanned face as he picked up the pace. the teen stopped short of the door and composed himself. the grin disappeared, and the sky blue eyes darkened. a sad whimper slipped through the blonde’s throat as he lifted one shaking hand to touch the door knob. the guardian could hear a voice behind the door, but he couldn’t make out the words. the muffled words were doing nothing for the blonde’s composure, and he just swallowed back his own excitement and opened the door. the door swung open on silent hinges, and sky blue hues were greeted with the sight of another blonde muttering and looking in a mirror. kitsune bit back a laugh and slipped into the room.
the meeting room was nothing special. a mirror rested in the back corner with a dry erase board next to it, and a single chair stood before the board at the head of the table. the table itself was wooden and had been painted black. silver markings created the solar system with the sun blazing away at the center of the table. manila folders rested before each of the chairs at the table along with bottles of water and strips of paper with different names on them. this was the first time the guardians would be gathering for a meeting, and everything had been laid out before hand by the old man. a small frown marred the fox’s face for a second. the tenth was supposedly in charge, but the ninth was the one selecting the guardians and the right hand. the blonde’s frown deepened more. the damned old man had chosen him to be the right hand, but kitsune thought hisoka was much more capable of being the proper right hand for the tenth.
nyah ~ good afternoon, principe-sama. the blonde’s sky blue eyes had suddenly brightened as he turned his gaze to the other blonde. a soft chuckle escaped the fox when he once again noticed what he boss was up too. it was quite amusing to see the other looking in the mirror, but the sun guardian also thought it a little vain. he hoped, for niccolo’s sake, that the boy wasn’t vain; hisoka wouldn’t be all that pleased to have a vain boss with a large ego. the fox couldn’t imagine that going down well. why are you looking in the mirror? you aren’t worried or anything, neh? it’s only the guardians. not like you need to impress us or anything like that. It was in the midst of his work to figure out the proper greeting, he finally realized that someone had indeed entered the meeting room. He had taken some time to learn the whereabouts of the place, and around Namimori as a whole. He heard this meeting room was specially built for their place in Japan, made by the 9th's orders. He turned, and looked to see who came in through the door.
It was a slightly older young man, with blond hair and blue eyes, and fox lines on his face. Due to his research, that meant this must be the Sun guardian, Kitsune Ayumu, as well as hand picked to be his right hand man. He stopped, then walked over to properly greet him.
"Hello, Kitsune Ayumu, or do you prefer Kistune? And please don't say 'Principe-sama', its too formal. You can refer to me as Niccolo, or Nick, or Nick-kun if you like. I really don't mind, to be honest. Anyways, It truly is a pleasure t finally meet you." He offered his hand to his Sun guardian, to shake it rapidly. He really didn't mind what his guardians called him, he hadn't been raised to see being the Boss as something to be used to lord over someone with title. Besides, Niccolo was a good two years younger than Kitsune.
"Oh, but you're wrong, my friend. It is especially in front of the guardians that I need to make a good impression. If a good leader doesn't conduct himself like a leader should, how can he expect his men to follow him? But regardless, how are you? Please sit down, let us get to know one another. You are my right hand man after all." He gave a genuinely pleasant smile as he said this, incredibly happy to meet the first of his guardians, especially his right hand man. These were the people selected to protect him, and whom he also was to protect. This meeting meant the beginning of something wonderful.

NEVER APART OF YOUR WORLD i will always be cast aside
Hisoka had not been bored like Kit had been all week. Though the two of them had basically trained together to become the perfect team, they were nothing like each other. It was amazing sometimes to see how well the two opposites seemed to react with one another. Hisoka had never really been the type to be, outgoing with people and rarely showed anything like emotions to others. The only one who really got anything out of him was Kit and even that was at seldom points of time. Hisoka, was just not the type to, "get to know others" , it was nothing against anyone. It was just how the boy acted, not that his past had anything to do with that fact.
Hisoka had been busy all week. Though Kitsune had often begged him to hang out with him, Hisoka had tried his best to make time for the blonde as well as everything else that he had going on. The raven had been on chore after chore. The boss of the family hadn't even arrived yet and he was already being used like a little slave boy. Hisoka didn't really mind much. He liked to keep moving, which meant that he had something to keep his mind off of the things it normally settled on. He had been consumed by both training himself as well as making sure everything was prepared for the arrival of the boss. Though, the arrival got bigger and bigger by the minute it seemed.
Rumor after rumor fled through the place that was the base of the Stella Family. Unlike Kit, Hisoka was not the explorer type. He had simply walked the entire place just once and memorized it almost instantly but then again, that was what made him the strategist of the Stella Family and a good one at that. Hisoka had tried to explain to Kit that he shouldn't listen to the rumors that had spread around like wildfire but when the blonde got confused or excited it was almost impossible to stop the blonde's mind from racing anymore. Hisoka had simply let it go. Eventually, the time came that the boss showed up.
Though their were excited rumors and talk of the boss finally being within Stella Base, Hisoka honestly didn't feel all that different. The place was still the exact same to the raven. Sure, their boss was finally in but people didn't have to go super nova. Hisoka had gotten sick of it all about a week ago, when it had started. Sure, somewhere deep, DEEP back in the recess of his mind he wondered about what the boss was like and if he would be compatible with the man, but he knew it really didn't matter if they were compatible or not. He would have to treat him like a boss and nothing else. Didn't matter if he was the worst possible person in response to Hiso's personality, he would respect him if nothing else.
Hisoka walked through the halls. Earlier that day he didn't think he would of actually been able to make it to the meeting. So much had been planned for that morning, with all the chores and training, he could of been booked for hours on end. It was luck he guessed that had him finish about an hour before the meeting was supposed to take place. Hisoka hadn't spent the hour doing nothing either. He had once again put himself through training. Though as he walked the halls of the celestial base nothing could of shown that he had gone through intense training. He seemed as if he had just gotten up from a nap and was completely calm than that of training. Hisoka was just interesting that way though.
Akaru sat calmly on the boy's shoulder. The black bird has its feathers rustled slightly. Hisoka didn't even pay attention to the black bird. The bird was probably the closest part of him, so he was used to being with the animal all the time. There was no echo of footsteps like there was supposed to be in the small hallway. Hisoka was as silent as ever. He didn't even flinch or falter as he reached the door that led to the room that the meeting was supposed to be held at. He wasn't really surprised when the door seemed opened already. Kit he supposed had mad a nuisance of himself again and had arrived early, no doubt from being bored again, he assumed.
Hisoka listened silently to the words that were being spoken but didn't really take them to heart. He entered the door to the room silently just as the blonde who was apparently their new leader told Kit that he should sit down. They had a lot to "catch up" on he seemed to be saying. How that was a bad idea. This boy would be driven out of his mind by the end of the meeting, if nothing else than Kit's constant talking but Hisoka was used to that about the blonde a natural ability to become friends with people. Though, it did explain why the ninth had chosen him to be the right hand, though Kit didn't see it Hisoka did, even if he wouldn't admit it out loud.
Hisoka didn't know if they had heard him enter but he didn't interrupt the chat that was going on now. He wasn't going to say anything at all, well at least until Akaru on his shoulder made a fuss. His feathers bristled up at the site of the new boss before the dark eyes of the creature caught sight of Kit. It had been a while since Akaru had seen the blonde so Hisoka wasn't surprised when the creature dive bombed from his arm right toward the fox. It quickly landed on Kit's shoulder and rubbed against him his feathers completely normal again, as if he had forgotten about the boss already. Well, there went Hisoka's cover, and the itty bitty chance of not being seen at all during this meeting.

the smile on kitsune’s face grew ever wider as the younger male spoke. his sky blue eyes sparkled slightly, and he could barely continue to stay in place. the blonde cocked his head to the side as niccolo mentioned what he should call him. a frown briefly settled on the fox’s features, but it disappeared a moment later. sama was a sign of respect for someone that was older or had more power than yourself. the young kit even called the old fart jiji-sama. the old man had grown quite… enraged at being called an ‘old man,’ but it had been the best joke of the day for everyone else. plus watching a laughing fox run from a cranky old man could put a smile on almost anyone’s face. neither hisoka nor kitsune’s adoptive father had appreciated it though; that fact alone had kept the fox depressed for almost a week. it had taken the blonde’s pet fox and hisoka’s pet raven to cheer the boy up again. the smile slowly reappeared on the guardian’s face as niccolo continued to speak. sky blue hues darted to the table when the other mentioned “sitting down and catching up.” the kit clapped his hands together happily at the suggestion.
i suppose if niccolo-sama asks… i can call him ‘col-chan,’ neh? the blonde’s voice was light and almost feminine sounding as he spoke. the ninth generation had picked on the fox more times than the teen liked to remember about his voice. plus kitsune had a way of talking that just screamed “feminine” to people. the fox hated it, but he couldn’t do much about it. he didn’t understand the concept of “manipulating the vocal chords” at all. his raven had tried to explain it to him, but it just never stuck. a pout surfaced on the blonde’s face for a moment at his memories of all the taunts and jeers about his voice, but the teen didn’t allow his mind to linger on the memories for long. nyah ~ i’d love to sit and talk. there’s so much that i want to ask col-chan about! did you know that there are over a hundred rumors circling around the celestial complex about you? everyone had something to say!
kitsune would have continued speaking if he hadn’t suddenly felt something land on his shoulder. the feeling of soft feathers rubbing against his skin brought the fox out of his thoughts, and he quickly turned his sky blue gaze on the raven occupying his shoulder. the guardian’s smile grew even larger, and he could barely stop himself from bounding over to the other raven that he knew was there. the ninth generation had often joked that kitsune and hisoka had a way of sensing when the other was around, but the fox had never really understood what they meant. he had often just instinctively known when his favorite raven was around, and he figured everyone would know when he was around. the ninth generation had just rolled their eyes and laughed; the fox still hadn’t understood though.
sky blue eyes slowly drifted from the small raven to hisoka. the smile on kitsune’s face turned evil as he slowly walked up to the blackette. neh, hiso, you weren’t trying to stay hidden, were you? the blonde’s voice was soft and velvet-like as he spoke. the fox slowly reached one pale hand up to pet akeru, but his bright blue hues stayed locked on the blackette. you have to properly meet our new boss. colo-chan deserves to meet his cloud guardian, and i don’t like when you try to disappear off the radar. sky blue eyes flickered away from the blackette to focus on the small raven. he should make his presence known, neh, akeru? It was during the discussion that Niccolo noticed someone enter the place. This person was extremely quiet, and if he hadn't been paying attention, he might not have been able to notice him. However, he quite well noticed the young man siting by, not speaking or interacting. However, for the time he focused on his right hand man. The new name "Col-chan"....he actually rather liked the name. "Chan" he knew was a term of endearment, it seemed he at least gained Kitsune's first feelings of trust. He stepped over to the desk with him. "Col-chan, yes I think that will do nicely." He noticed Kitsune's high pitches, feminine voice, but it meant nothing to him. It didn't matter if he was a bass, an alto, or a tenor. He was his right hand man and his Guardian, and that was all that mattered.
"Rumors? Really now, I didn't think I'd cause this much of a stir. I'm curious, what are the rumors that people are saying about me?" He had expected there to be some big events and rumors going on with his return. A great deal of his history was unknown to all but a few, and some parts only Niccolo himself knew, not wishing to tel anyone. He would share his secrets only with his guardians, those he could truly rely on. He was rather curious; was he told to be an angel, a demon, a hero, a phantom? The story of his life and who he is could go several different ways.
Then the raven that had been at the other boy's side went up to Kitsune and rubbed against him. This led to Kitsune to realizing that someone was there and watching them. He turned and said how he should come out and introduce himself. Niccolo smiled serenely.
"Yes, Cloud Guardian Hisoka. Come join us. I want us to meet properly, so we may get to know one another. It would make me very happy." He beckoned him over. He knew his Cloud Guardian was skilled, and that he was a bit more of the loner. However, for this time, all the guardians should be united to meet and get acquainted with their boss, as the boss should get acquainted with them.

NEVER APART OF YOUR WORLD i will always be cast aside
Hisoka had a thing about being the center of attention. He hated it. He didn't like when people stare or any other form of eye contact. Kit being the only exception. He absolutely hated attention in any shape way or form, which was why he was probably the cloud guardian. The man definitely kept his distance and hated having to speak or talk to other people. He was a strategist, wanted to talk about battle plans, ask him a opinion on a battle strategy, he was your guy, but introductions and friends and all that jazz, Hisoka was not the right person. Hisoka was simply not the type of person to want to get to know people, he had already tried that at one point, and it just hadn't worked out for him.
So the minute he felt Nico's eyes on him the man stiffened. He knew that the younger blonde had caught his eye the moment he had walked in. The raven was just good at those kinds of things. He wished he hadn't come to this meeting now. He hated this kind of stuff, oh why had he ever finished those errands. He cursed himself for being got at those stupid things and a perfectionist in so many ways because of it. Oh at that moment, he wished to be leaning back in his room reading some really old book of some battle in Italy a long time ago. But no, he was forever cursed to have to come into these kinds of things that he absolutely despised with a passion.
It was after Akaru had announced his presence to Kit that the blackette had even calmed down a bit. Hisoka could feel it. Oh, he could. His eyes had probably changed red by now. He didn't like that one little side effect of his past. Whenever he got riled up his eyes changed scarlet on him and people probably thought he was more like a demon than a human. Hisoka probably couldn't argue with them in more ways than one. He wasn't exactly a normal human anymore, damn scientists and their poking but that was a story that Hisoka didn't quite want in his head. It was the reason he had to keep busy, memories needed to stay in the back of his mind. Hisoka's eyes finally flickered away from Nico as Kit approached him.
When he got close enough to hear Hisoka's soft whisper did the blackette finally decide to speak. "I should of known better. Akaru is always causing me mischief." he said softly. Hisoka looked at the bird but it only let out a soft cry as if baffled by Hisoka's need for anger. Hisoka noticing Kit's smile calms all the way, his eyes returning to normal. " You should know that answer without even having to ask me. I don't do these kind of things." the raven replied to Kit's comment of disappearing. At Kits' words Akaru's feathers ruffled a bit before he moved against the blonde again.
Hiso didn't have time to say anything before the "boss" started talking. The raven stiffened slightly upon hearing the man's words. He really didn't want anything to do with any of this really. His eyes closed as he hoped to calm his emotions so his eyes would not change once again. His eyes, were probably his one and only greatest flaw, as well as a blessing. "I'm sorry... I don't do this "getting to know" thing. My apologies." he said inclining his body a bit. Hisoka meant it to. He wasn't really going to say anything about himself. If Kit wanted to say something, he really didn't care, but it would take Hisoka quite a while to warm up to anyone.
Heck, it took Kit years to do just that. And even with all that time, Hisoka, still hadn't shown the blonde even the full part of his own self. It made the blackette wonder if anyone would ever be able to break him in such a way. In the back of his mind, the smallest bits of fear came with the question.

the blonde continued to pet the raven softly as he watched the blackette. kitsune had spent a good portion of his childhood with hisoka, but there were still so many things he didn’t know. hisoka had layers upon layers of brick built around himself, and the fox was having to chisel away at each. it seemed to be making little difference, and there were times when the young kit could barely keep his frustration under control. those days weren’t like today though. a sad smile had settled on his face, but his eyes still held their usual animated glow as the blonde reached out and snatched one of hisoka’s hands with his own free hand. his sky blue eyes slowly drifted back to his boss when the other’s voice reached him, but his expression never changed. a quick glance to the blackette proved that the other wasn’t comfortable with the whole “getting to know” business. a soft giggle escaped the fox; hisoka had never been one for getting to know people. he supposed that’s way hisoka was the quiet one, and he was the talker during missions. it made sense, and it tended to work.
kitsune fought back the urge to cling to hisoka’s arm as he began tugging the other toward the table. he wasn’t about to let the raven disappear after arriving. the blackette didn’t have to talk for all he cared, but there was no way the fox was letting him leave. plus the sun guardian wasn’t all that keen on being left alone with his new boss. something just felt off with the atmosphere around the room, and the kit just couldn’t put his finger on what. a shivered passed through his fragile frame as hisoka stopped talking.
nyah ~ it’s alright. i’ll do enough talking for the both of us, and hiso can just act as an overseer. neh, hiso? the blonde struggled to keep the same light tone from before as he continued to try and drag hisoka over to the table. plus i have a lot to ask colo-chan about, and hiso doesn’t need to talk during colo-chan’s answers ~. let’s all get along and enjoy our first official meeting as the next generation of the stella solare famiglia. the fox’s tone had become more animated as he spoke, and he could feel his earlier uneasiness receding as he flashed a bright smile to both hisoka and his boss, niccolo. he scratched akaru’s head once again before attempting to drag hisoka closer to the table again.
now… what were we talking about before, colo-chan? the teen paused in both his movements and words to ponder his own question. a happy smile danced across his face when the memory came rushing back to him. oh… yeah, rumors and nicknames. well… i’m glad you like your nickname, colo-chan. i adore nicknames. you can call me either “kitsu” or “tsune.” just not “kit” or “fox” sine those are hiso’s nickname for me. hiso doesn’t really like nicknames though… so it would be better to stick with “kyoshi” or “hisoka” for him. “kyoshi” would probably be better though. the ninth generation still calls him that except for a few. jiji-sama likes to call him “runt.” the blonde interrupted his own tirade with happy, chime-like laughter. i wouldn’t try calling him that if i were you, colo-chan.
sky blue eyes danced across the room briefly before settling on the other blonde again. the fox’s smile had grown ever wider as he spoke, and the whisker-like markings on his cheeks had become even more accentuated. and… the rumors… well… there’s quite a few. where would you like me to start? the ones about how you’ve spent your childhood? or the ones about your personality? or the speculations on whether you’ll be the glorious rebirth of the first generation boss or not? the blonde had finally let go of hisoka’s hand, and he was now resting in his assigned seat. his sky blue gaze drifted to the name next to him, and his smile grew impossibly wider. nyah ~ hiso gets to sit next to me. come sit down, hiso. you too, colo-chan. pale fingers once again drifted to the small rave on the fox’s shoulder as he spoke, and his eyes danced merrily between the two males standing before him. Nicolo could obviously tell that his Cloud guardian didn't like attention. Hisoka Kyoshi was visibly ucomfotrable, his eyes even beginning to change color. He apparently wanted to continue to be left out of the whole thing, and stay on the sidelines. That did fit with what a Cloud guardian did after all. However, it seemed his Sun Guardian was able to pull him along and at least get him to sit down. Apparently they were very close, this was good. He needed men who could rely on one another.
"Yes, please come sit. You don't need to talk if you don't want to, my apologies for putting you on the spot like that, Kyoshi-kun. Kitsu-kun and I can easily spend enough time talking. You can just watch and oversee and do what you were doing before." It semed he had some odd personalities to deal with, but he was fine with that. A leader had to be able to bring the best out of his men, no mater who they are.
"Oh, well then, let us start with the rumors about where I came from, since that will probably be the most interesting. You both might learn things going that route that no one else knows, not even the 9th. Now, tell me, Kitsu, what are the rumors going around about where I cam from?" He was quite curious; he of course knew the truth, but he'd like to see what other people had come up with concerning his origins. Besides, it gave him an oppertunity to share himself with his two subordinates. He was quite interested to see what kind of stories had spread since his return.
