| [atrb=border,0,bTable][atrb=cellSpacing,0,bTable][atrb=background,http://i51.tinypic.com/df7r7p.jpg][atrb=width,500][atrb=height,97] cellar door ❝ This famous linguist once said that of all the phrases in the English language, of all the endless combinations of words in all of history, that 'Cellar Door' is the most beautiful. ❞ | [atrb=background,http://i54.tinypic.com/10rqpsk.jpg] a dark figure moved through the night like a phantom. this figure was a messenger from the missing reborn-sama, but the messenger was the bringer of reborn-sama’s notorious holiday games. the vongola-style games have long since been played out by tsunayoshi-sama and his guardians. each holiday brought about a different game, and it was currently valentine’s day. this day was known for match-making galore during reborn-sama’s early years, but he had settled on a wonderful game almost ten years ago. this game was no cakewalk. participants were split up at random into pairs of two, and they had to spend the day acting like a true couple. the fake couples were all scored, and the highest scorers earned two tickets to the namimori zoo while the losers earned a one-way trip to death. there has never been a report of death from this game though, so no one really expected that to be the punishment. a revised edition of this game allowed for the losers to act as the personal slave to the winners for a full twenty-four hours. those were the rules, and the rules have once again come into play. a new game was beginning, and the cast has been selected. reborn’s message read thusly, “you’ve been selected to compete in the vongola-style valentine’s day. be grateful. the loser gets death, and the winner receives a glorious prize. act like a couple with your partner to succeed, and be sure to arrive at your destination on time. the times and destinations are written on another paper. do your best, and i’ll know if you don’t compete. so do your best.” tagged ## azzurra fabian and hiroaki adalfieri credit ## template by pademelon of on the edge! |

distraught voices snapped a slender blunette out of her thoughts. sapphire hues focused on a taller male scrambling closer to her with a white slip of paper held almost protectively in one of his hands. the girl only sighed softly and turned to face the new comer, but he ran past her while letting the paper float lazily toward the ground. the gem colored eyes narrowed as azzurra bent down slightly to retrieve the innocent seeming paper. annoyance coated her features as her eyes scanned the words, but she quickly regained control of her emotions. the sapphire hues remained slightly narrowed as the guardian made her way through the halls of the maze-like base though, and her temperament didn’t improve in the slightest as she headed toward the park. she had over an hour still until the appointed meeting time, but she had no idea where the center most bench in the park was. plus it was better to be early, or so the girl believed.

"This seems like fun."
Hiroaki adjusted his outfit. He was dressed rather formally, black tuxedo and all. The only thing that really stood out with his outfit is his usual orange headphones. Hioraki again looked at the paper someone dropped in his mail. A valentines day event eh? It sounded fun though the thought of death as a consequence kinda unnerved him a little. Hiroaki simply shrugged at his reflection in the mirror and then dashed out the door.
Hiroaki was finally at the park. He smiled as he saw his partner and right hand, Azzura, waiting in the center most bench of the park. The rules were simple right? Seem like a couple, that shouldn't be too hard. Besides it wasn't as if they're actually dating. It was just a friendly game. Hiroaki went up to Azzura and greeted her with a bouquet of flowers. Purple Lilacs, Blue Roses, and Blue Violets. He smiled as he presented the bouquet.
" And how are you today?" Hiroaki asked politely. He wasn't exactly sure if Azzura will accept it. She always seemed distant back at base and when the two trained during their youth.

azzurra snapped out of her thoughts when a familiar voice reached her ears. the girl slowly turned sapphire hues on her boss only to see purple and blue flowers. she reached a shaking hand toward the flowers and carefully took them away from her almost happy-go-lucky boss. yes, the blunette had known him during childhood. no, she didn’t see him in the romantic way. yes, this day would be in every sense of the word “awkward,” and the guardian could already feel that in her bones. the girl just shook her head slightly and turned emotionless eyes on her boss. she forced a fake smile onto her face and bowed slightly to the younger male. thank you, aki. they’re lovely. the girl paused a moment and bit her bottom lip in a momentary display of confusion. perhaps we should walk around a bit? the blunette had no earthly idea how couples acted, so she could only do her best. right?

"Thank you, Aki. they’re lovely. " It took Azzura a while to grasp the flowers. Hiroaki now felt he was doing something wrong despite his cheery smile. For one the smile on Azzura might be fake judging from the way her hand was sahking. Not to mention she bit her lip in confusion after taking them. Though Hiroaki then assumed she just isn't use to this. She wasn't exactly the type to reach out for human interaction. Maybe she felt awkward? Then it was Hiroaki's job to make her feel less awkward. "Perhaps we should walk around a bit?"
" Why not?" Hiroaki had a wonderful smile on him as he walked with Azzura along the park. He remember reading that during a date two people would often eat and discuss things together. Of course the book never went into detail about how important said discussions are and thus was lead to believe dating is something you can do with just about anyone. "So...how is Namimori? Was it what you expected?" Hiroaki asked.

the blunette watched the ground while she walked next to the brunette. she hadn’t been thinking when she suggested walking, but she had needed out of that situation. the guardian unwittingly threw herself into another dangerous situation. she could see hazards all around from her peripheral vision, and she was slowly breaking down inside. hiroaki’s cheery voice once again wrenched her from her thoughts. a grateful half-smile briefly flashed across her porcelain face as she contemplated an answer. it’s… different, to say the least. not exactly what i expected, yet what i expected at the same time. the tenth vongola was notorious for hating violence, and this town just seems to exude a peaceful air. the blunette paused and finally turned her jewel colored gaze on her boss. this town… frankly, it puts me on edge. the guardian once again averted her gaze, but she settled it on the sky this time. what do you think of namimori, aki?

She was right. Hiroaki rather enjoyed the peaceful feel of the town. "This town… frankly, it puts me on edge." Hiroaki looked over at Azzurra as her gaze shifted over to the sky. Why would it put her on edge? then again it could be too peaceful. Hiroaki specifically remembered that Azzurra was trained in usage of pretty much every type of weapon. "What do you think of Namimori, Aki?"
"Well...I like it." Hiroaki looked at the sky. "I don't mind the peaceful feel of this town. One can argue it's too peaceful looking (especially when you consider mafia are secretly running around.) but I none the less like it." Hiroaki noticed that Azzurra was paying sole attention to the sky. This caused Hiroaki to look up, not seeing much. He then remembered eating with your date was essential...for some odd reason. "There is a stand, want to eat something?" Hiroaki said pointing over to a stand where a guy is selling food and such.

azzurra fought back a slight shudder as hiroaki talked. his cheery voice didn’t mask any of his words, but she could understand his view. the blunette had been raised to be constantly on edge, and her personality had developed to show that. the girl had a vast understanding of different weapons and forms of hand-to-hand combat. she was the perfect mafia agent, and the peaceful feel was unnerving. hiroaki was different, and the blunette had long accepted that. it was the reason he was the boss, and she was the right-hand. slightly narrowed sapphire hues landed on the food stand that hiroaki mentioned, and she immediately fought down a blush from the slight noise her stomach made. she hadn’t eaten anything since lunch the day before. i don’t mind. let’s see what the vendor has… the blunette trailed off slightly at the end and immediately began walking toward the food stand, and the blush had spread slightly across her porcelain cheeks despite azzurra’s attempts.

"I don’t mind. Let’s see what the vendor has… " Hiroaki smiled as he heard Azzurra's stomach make a little noise. The blush on her face only served to make her look cute. Of course to Hiroaki that was just a common compliment but still. Hiroaki and Azzurra walked over to the vendor. He looked at the menu. Standard fare really, it had sandwiches, bentos, sodas, drinks, ETC. Hiroaki took out his wallet. According to what he read, it is standard for the male to pay for the meals.
"So, what would you like, for a vendor this has a pretty decent selection." Hiroaki smiled at Azzurra as he waited for her desires.

sapphire hues swept over the display as azzurra walked closer. a strange delight began to bubble up in her as she took a corndog from the vendor. she offered the man a small smile and a slight bob of her head. light blue pigtails bounced a few times after the blunette began happily munching away on her treat. the guardian didn’t often indulge in her love of anything on a stick. something about corndogs and popsicles and all the other foods like them had always been a strange addiction for the emotionless girl. azzurra began walking away soon while still eating away at her treat, but her sapphire gaze was once again focused on the sky. lazy clouds floated across the sky, and a small smile curved into existence on her face. it’s pretty out today. what else shall we do, aki?

Azzurra got herself a corn dog as Hiroaki payed for the treat. Azzurra was happy as she devoured her little treat. She walked off and again looked at the sky. A small smile on her face. So far so good. Hiroaki can't help but to smile as well. She was happy and that was all that mattered.
"It’s pretty out today. What else shall we do, Aki?" Hiroaki looked at Azzurrra as he then looked up at the sky. He ordered a corn dog himself. He nibbled on the treat as he tried to think of something.
"eh...how about we just sit by the fountain there, take in the view a little more?" Hiroaki guided Azzurra over to one of the benches near a fountain. "Enjoying your time?" Asked Hiroaki.

the blunette followed hiroaki without complaint toward the water fountain. she hadn’t been in a park for fun in years, and she really didn’t know what to do. azzurra hardly ever went out for fun; she kept herself busy with missions and research and risk. plus she never was one to just go out and enjoy the day. she would rather handle the things that needed her attention; it wasn’t like she had a life outside of the nube family. sometimes the blunette wanted to just have some meaningless fun with someone though. the guardian had allowed herself to get roped into a few mindless ventures by hiroaki before, but she always put a quick end to those. it just hadn’t ever set well with her, but she couldn’t escape this situation. the doll-like female allowed her body to lean back against the bench as her sapphire hues focused on the sky. i’m not used to these types of situations, but you probably already knew that. i… suppose this would be considered relaxing. are you enjoying yourself?

The two sat on the bench and watched the water flow. Their date is surprisingly smooth to Hiroaki's knowledge. Azzurra was smiling and that was all that mattered at the moment. Hiroaki looked over at Azzurra just simply staring at the sky. She seemed so much at peace right now. Considering that usually Hiroaki saw Azzurra saw her with an emotionless face, then again it would make sense considering her line of work.
"I’m not used to these types of situations, but you probably already knew that. I… suppose this would be considered relaxing. Are you enjoying yourself?"
"Yeah I am, but I'm more concerned if you are enjoying hte moment." Hiroaki laughed a little. "You know we never hung out like this back at base, but I'm glad we got the chance to." It was just a peaceful simple moment for the two right now.

the doll like girl nodded her head slightly in agreement with her eyes still focused on the water fountain. her lips were still quirked up slightly in a half-smile, and she felt almost giddy on the inside. she adored days when she could just be herself, but she often denied herself the privilege. azzurra believed that work came before play; she was the advocate of getting the task done. the blunette cared nothing for her relationships with other people. she just wanted to keep her boss safe and keep the nube family from disappearing. nothing else matter, but she loved just spending time with people like hiroaki and risk. i don’t suppose we did. when we tried, i’d always cut the fun short by reminding you of what we should have been doing. i suppose i just wanted the best for the nube family, and spending time just lying around didn’t seem appropriate. sapphire hues turned back to the brunette as the slender female twirled her corndog stick between her fingers. i suppose you prefer moments such as these over battles and strategy meetings, right?
