shaking fingers placed a small silver key in the final lock to the stark white apartment door. tsuki shiroyuki hated working late into the evening, but there was nothing he could do about it. his boss was adamant about the hours, but the small male adhored it. dark sapphire hues landed on a white envelope as the blunette stepped into his apartment. the college student reached for it without thinking, and his eyes easily traveled over the words once the paper was opening. depression and confusion began setting in with each word that the blunette read. he couldn’t understand how he had gotten involved in this. words such as vongola and reborn had never reached him before. the young waiter was at a loss, but his body was already moving him out the door. his meeting time was scheduled two hours from now, and the blunette had no idea how he was going to stay away. a soft sigh escaped the slightly parted lips as the blunette began the long walk to the namimori aquarium.

Kenji had never really had a thing for these kind of games. After all, he had been the type to not really like interactions with people he had never met before, which was exactly what this was. But then again, Kenji knew that he was supposed to be the next Vongola boss. Which meant eventually the boy would have to get over his little "fear" of people. If Kenji didn't know any better, he would believe this was all Aly's doing. Kenji had of course opened the letter hours ago. He was, of course, still pondering what to do about it. The destined time, was about an hour and half away. Kenji didn't know what to do at all, but then his mind started whirling. What if the person he was supposed to meet got really upset because he never showed up? Kenji didn't like the thought of that. The boy was being conned into this he knew it. He sighed as he finally pulled a coat from a rack and went to the aquarium.
He didn't know how early it was but he waited by the entrance as he leaned against the wall. He wondered just who this might be.

the petite blunette grimaced slightly as his foot was once again stepped on. he heard a hurried apology, but the words seemed almost yelled from a block away. it was just tsuki’s luck to navigate the crowded streets. dark blue hues darted to a clock, and the blunette visibly wilted. time was ticking away, and the crowd was being less than helpful. the café waiter supposed it couldn’t be helped. he did live on a street notorious for having late-night partiers, and he was learning that first hand. a small whimper once again escaped the blunette as he pushed his way through a section of densely packed people, but he was finally out. the male cast one final look back at the crowd before hurrying to the aquarium. tsuki arrived at the aquarium with no time left to spare. his dark hues swept across the slight crowd and landed on a purple eyed blackette. the young shiroyuki approached the other with cautious steps before coming to a halt close to five feet away from the seemingly younger, yet taller male. hello. are you… rokudo kenjiro?

Kenji didn't know precisely how long he had waited before he heard small steps coming toward his direction. His eyes had been on a small display the place had within view as the boy had been staring at it for quite some time and thinking about certain things, dealing with the mafia and the other families, but mostly about separating the ties of the Stella and Nube families. He almost didn't notice the other boy walk straight up to him. It was when he spoke his name that Kenji finally seemed to come back from within his mind. The violet eyes of the young vongola instantly moved to the other boy that stood there. He looked young, but somewhere inside him, Kenji knew something didnt' quite fit right. Kenji didn't want to be rude though so he quickly stood up instead of leaning on the wall. "I am Kenjiro, though, if you wouldn't mind, I go by kenji, just kenji. May I ask your own name?" Kenji didn't really pay attention to that part of the note, which was quite obvious from his question.

tsuki offered a hesitant smile to the blackette as he spoke. he wasn’t at all put off by the question, but the looks aimed toward there were starting to unnerve the petite male. i’m shiroyuki tsuki, kenji-kun. you can just call me “tsu-san,” and… for the sake of getting this question out of the way, i’m twenty-one. the blunette’s smile had slowly disappeared as he spoke. depression set in around the young shiroyuki as he stared at the pavement. he was ridiculously small for his age, but he had resigned himself to that fact. he was small, petite, and effeminate; there was nothing he could do about it. all that he was allowed to contemplate was suicide, but he knew that wouldn’t happen. he loved living life too much for that, but his height and age were both extremely sore subjects for the blunette. shall we go in, kenji-kun? i don’t quite like all the stares we’re getting, and neither of us look like the strongest person around.

Kenji was happy when the boy smiled at him. It seemed like this wasn't going to be all that bad after all. Kenji hadn't meant to look at the other boy weird but the way the boy seemed to be acting he must have. Kenji nodded when he introduced himself. When he said his age, Kenji wasn't all that surprised. After all, the boy had had a gut feeling about something being off. So, it didn't really bother the Vongola leader. Though, it seemed to be bothering his new friend. Kenji let a small smile come across his features hopefully to cheer up his newly found date. "Come now, tsu-san, its not that bad, I wouldn't care if you were 35 and looked like a 4 year old. The outside doesn't matter anyway. It's the inside that matters, besides, what kind of date would I be if I judged you." he said with a kind smile. He hoped that it would cheer up the boy even by the smallest bit. When he spoke of going in Kenji liked the idea though the last part of his sentence caught him off guard. Kenji was the Vongola boss in training, he was SUPPOSED to be the strongest guy around, so why say that. Then something crossed his mind, there was a possibility, even in its smallest measure, that this kid had no relation to the mafia whatsoever.

tsuki let his head tilt to the side as his companion spoke. his smile slowly came back to life, and his chaotic emotions were starting to calm down. thank you for the vote of confidence, kenji-kun. i should think of it that way more, but old habits die hard. i suppose my work environment doesn’t help either. the blunette laughed softly to himself as he started walking toward the aquarium. have you been to an aquarium before, kenji-kun? i haven’t, but i’ve heard that there quite fun to walk through. i remember hearing two classmates talking about aquariums when i was younger, but i never could convince my foster father to bring me. the effeminate male stopped and turned to look at kenjiro with a small smile resting on his pale face. let’s have fun, shall we? i don’t suppose the people in the letter would send us here if they didn’t want that.

Kenji let his own smile broaden as the other boys became bigger. That was exactly what Kenji wanted. He was glad that his companion in the older but shorter boy had seemed to relax even in the slightest bit. In the back of his mind however, Kenji was worrying for him. This boy seemed like he had no idea what the mafia was and wasn't involved. But just by being here with the Vongola boss, he was now in danger. Kenji hated that, but it also meant that Kenji had someone to protect now, someone he cared about enough to put his own life on the line for. It felt, interesting. Kenji had never really had a feeling like this before, sure, he wanted to protect Aly and the others, but they could defend themselves, this was a completely different situation. Kenji guessed this was how Aly felt toward Hiro, but then hiro knew about the mafia too.
Kenji sighed to himself as he was pulled back to reality by the older male's words. Kenji realized that tsu-san had been talking and he had missed almost all of it but he caught the basis of it all. "Its all good Tsu-san, after all, its a lot easier to have confidence when you have someone who is close to support you. And I am definitely going to want to see you again, tsu-san. I think, it would be really nice to be friends with you outside of this game. " he said kindly. Whether he said yes or not, Kenji knew he was going to have to be around, cause the boy was in danger. Kenji blinked at the question. "No, actually, I haven't been in here. It sounds like it would be an awesome place to try though, tsu-san." he said.
Kenji smiled at Tsuki's easy going attitude. He should have one of those, life was simple for people like tsu-san he guessed. Sure, they had their own problems, but nothing like the young vongola had to face. Kenji nodded. "Let's go in then, oh, and I'll pay for everything today tsu-san, my treat."

the blunette paused and kept his gaze focused. the current situation reminded him quite clearly of something that he wished to forget, but his mind never managed to block out the memory. his smile turned wistful for a moment; however, tsuki quickly got his emotions under control. i wouldn’t dream of pushing someone as charming as yourself away, kenji-kun. it seems i make friends from the strangest of situations though. do you, by any chance, know what the note meant by “reborn” and “vongola”? i’ve been trying to figure it out, but nothing seems to make sense. i suppose i should pay more attention to my surroundings, neh? my friends always do say that i’m a clueless klutz. a soft laugh escaped the smaller male as he began walking again. his gaze was now focused on the aquarium, but he was keeping tabs of those around him from his peripheral vision. and i couldn’t let you pay for everything. you’re a high school student, right? i have a job, so i should be the one to pay. it wouldn’t feel right making you pay.

Kenji was glad that Tsu-san agreed to be friends with him. The young boss knew it would be a lot easier that way. However when he spoke of the note that caught Kenji off guard. He chuckled a little oddly and put a hand behind his head. "Um.. I have absolutely no idea either. I just thought it would be something cool to try, though I'm really glad I did, cause I got to meet you." he said softly. He didn't like lying to tsu-san at all. It made him feel bad on the inside, but he didn't want him involved anymore than he already was. When he mentioned paying, Kenji couldn't help but laugh. "How about we split it then, my parents, own a really big business so I wouldn't mind paying for everything but if you really want to help pay I can't stop you tsu-san." he said. Well, it was the closest to the truth that Kenji was going to give his newly found friend for now.

tsuki blinked a few times before laughing softly. his laughter sounded almost like wind chimes as the wind pushed against them, but it was more subdued and melancholy. the blunette shook his head slightly before focusing sapphire hues on the blackette. i’m glad i came. though i’d love to learn who thought up this crazy idea. i wonder how many other people ended up in the same situation as us. i doubt many of them will have as much fun as us though. i think there is a childish wonder surrounding aquariums. they always seem so fun, no matter what age. the petite male opened the door and held it open with a cheeky grin on his face. after you, kenji-kun. i suppose i can settle with us both paying. i do get to buy you a souvenir from the gift shop though, alright?

Kenji was actually surprised when Tsu-kun started to laugh. His laughter was contagious because soon after Kenji found himself laughing as well. The boy couldn't remember the last time he had laughed like that either, perhaps he really did need to meet this boy. He seemed to get along with him in a very happy way. The two of them seemed almost a perfect combination, with that thought, the boy thought of Aly. Was this wrong of him? Kenji had always thought of his right hand as the person he would always trust and be close to with everything, but this, it just felt so right and Kenji couldn't simply ignore it. Kenji let the thought drop from his mind though, he could think of such things later.
"I have no clue. Though, I do agree with you on one part. We will ABSOLUTELY have more fun that the rest of them. Yeah, its a lot easier to let the younger side of us out right?" he said kindly. The younger side huh? The younger side, wouldn't of been able to do anything like this Kenji thought sadly. But this wasn't a sad moment, he would make up for lost time, now, in the future where he had choices. And he would make them with Tsu-kun. After all, the boy made it so much easier to understand things and he really cleared Kenji's mind of all his worries. When tsu-kun opened the door Kenji smiled and laughed slightly. "So does this mean I am the female in this relationship?" he said joking. He couldn't help but laugh. And just this once he would let Tsu-kun win about buying him a gift, just because he was having so much fun.

tsuki smiled happily at the blackette. kenjiro had a soothing quality to him that the petite blunette adored. his work and life kept him constantly on edge, but his companion had managed to do what so many of his friends strived to do. he never let his barriers down around them; they all hated him for that. there were a few that the young café worker let in, but those people were far and few between. his sapphire hues drifted away from the blackette and into the aquarium. a surprised gasp escaped him, and his eyes grew wide. a tank of fish sat in the middle of the lobby, and the fishes were quite beautiful. look, kenji-kun. they’re beautiful. the young shiroyuki allowed his smile to gain an all-knowing edge as he turned his gaze back to kenjiro. only if you want to be seen that way, kenji-kun.
